"EVERYONE WHO IS CALLED BY MY NAME, AND WHOM I HAVE CREATED FOR MY GLORY, WHOM I HAVE FORMED, EVEN WHOM I HAVE MADE." (Isaiah 43:7)
We were "created" and "formed" by God, for God. We were "created" and "formed" for His glory.
"THE PEOPLE WHOM I FORMED FOR MYSELF WILL DECLARE MY PRAISE." (Isaiah 43;21)
Nowhere does the bible say, "once you are happy in your marriage, then turn your attention on bringing glory to God." Seems utterly rediculous to write such a statement, but we do not live our lives as though this is utterly ridiculous. Happiness is frequently set as a higher objective.
"YET FOR US THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, THE FATHER, FROM WHOM ARE ALL THINGS AND WE EXIST FOR HIM; AND ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, BY WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND WE EXIST THROUGH HIM." (1 Corinthians 8:6)
"WHETHER THEN, YOU EAT OR DRINK OR WHATEVER YOU DO, DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD." (1 Corinthians 10:31)
The spiritually mature recognize that marriage is an institution from God designed to bring glory to God. The spiritually mature couple makes glorifying God the objective for their marriage - marrital happiness then becomes a blessing from God, a byproduct of the glory of God.
